We’ve created a healthy coffee cream filled donut recipe that’s low in sugar and butter yet doesn’t sacrifice that fluffy texture and sweet, bready taste that we all know and love in a regular donut. Coffee Cream Filled Donuts – featuring Karuna’s Boost Synergy Coffee Blend

For the Donuts:
- ¾ cup KARUNA’S BOOST
- ¼ cup milk or dairy-free milk alternative
- ¼ cup melted butter or vegan butter substitute
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar or zero-calorie sweetener
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp instant yeast
For the Cream:
- ¼ cup KARUNA’S BOOST
- 1 cup fat-free cream cheese or vegan substitute
- ¼ cup powdered sugar or zero-calorie sweetener
- 3 tbsp coconut flour
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/8 espresso powder
Additional Ingredients:
- oil spray for sugar coating
- sugar or zero-calorie sweetener to roll the donuts in
Instructions
Make the Donuts
- In a large mixing bowl, sift in the flour, sweetener, salt, and yeast. Give it a quick whisk to combine.
- In a separate bowl, add in KARUNA’S BOOST, milk, butter, and egg. Whisk until well-combined.
- Add the wet mixture into the dry mixture and fold until a dough forms. Continue to knead the dough with your hands for 10 minutes or until the sides of the bowl are clean.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or paper towel and set aside in a warm spot for an hour. The dough will double in size.
- On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough until ½” in thickness. Use a glass or a 3” cookie cutter to punch out circles. Take the extra dough, roll it out again, and continue to make circles until there isn’t any dough left.
- Transfer the circles onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Set aside for 15 minutes to let the dough rise and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°F).
- Bake the donuts for 18-20 minutes or until they are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool.
Make the Cream
- In a bowl, whisk together KARUNA’S BOOST and cream cheese.
- Sift in the sugar, coconut flour, cocoa powder, and espresso powder. Whisk until well-combined and add more coconut flour is the mixture is too wet.
- Transfer the cream to a piping bag.
Assemble
- Once the donuts are cooled, from the side, insert the piping tip into the middle and fill each donut with 1-2 tbsp of cream.
- Lightly spray the donuts with oil and roll them in the sugar until fully coated.
- Serve and enjoy!
